Hurricane Ida:
The Associated Press reports that more than 14000 Salvadoran have been affected by the floods and mudslides. Salvadoran authorities say at least 192 people were killed by floods and landslides that swept through the country.


Direct quote from the Latin American Herald Tribune:

"Emergency management chief Jorge Melendez said the rains caused 176 mudslides and 13 large floods and that there were 176 areas where rivers jumped their banks, causing damage to 1,779 homes and destroying 220 others.Two-dozen bridges have been damaged, while the town of San Vicente, 48 kilometers (30 miles) east of San Salvador, was buried in mud and stones from the slopes of the Chinchontepec volcano."
